Gobblet Tic-Tac-Toe
Gobblet Tic-Tac-Toe
Each player has pieces in three sizes, and a larger piece can cover a smaller one.
Gobblet adds a size rule to the 3×3 game. Each player has six pieces: two small, two medium and two large. On your turn you place a piece on an empty square or on top of a smaller piece.
Now you have to remember what is under each stack, and decide when to spend your large pieces. On this board you only play pieces from your reserve.
Gobblet rules
- Choose a piece size (S, M or L) and click a square.
- Place it on an empty square or on a strictly smaller piece, yours or your opponent's.
- Only the visible top piece of each square counts towards three in a row.
- If all nine squares are occupied and the large pieces are used up, the game is a draw.
Gobblet strategy
- Save the large pieces: a large piece cannot be covered, so it is ideal for finishing a line or stopping an attack.
- Open with M or S pieces to see how your opponent reacts before you spend what you have.
- Keep track of the stacks: a piece you see may be covering one of yours.
